Our Favourite Lockdown Games
Running out of things to do? It's time to try out the games we're all enjoying!
April 10, 2020
We all know that finding ways to spend your time during lockdown can be quite the challenge, especially when you’ve already worked, napped, and binge-watched Netflix - each 100 times over. We’ve all been giving each other recommendations on how to beat the boredom, so we thought we’d share a round-up of our favourite games to play in lockdown!
Sims, a classic, right? It’s safe to say the majority of our team have played it at least once in their lifetime, gamer or not. If you’re not familiar with the concept - essentially, you play a virtual character; creating and living their life. You can build your own house from scratch, create a family, make friends… and so much more! What better way to feel
Both Forza Horizon 2 and 4 are frequently played within our team! Played on the Xbox 360, you can race around closed public roads in a variety of different types of races. Drifting, jumping over obstacles, or carrying out other similar moves will increase your popularity level, and a high popularity level means unlocking new special events. If you’re wanting to laze around at home but still looking for a sense of achievement, then this is the game for you... it’s a win:win really.
Yes, really, Club Penguin. It may be known as a ‘kids’ game, but it’s comeback has opened a whole new world of nostalgia that’s got us all playing! The all-time favourite features are all still there… create a penguin, build an igloo, buy puffles as pets, and play mini-games - ice fishing, pizza making, snowboarding, and more!
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
We’re sure you’ve seen it all over social media; we definitely have. It’s latest launch has got everybody hooked! You play a human, living in a village of animals. It’s the perfect way to pass time as you explore and develop your island - carrying out activities such as catching fish, making items, or hunting for fossils.
Rocket League was the most common answer here at Viker. So much so that we even team up in our lunch hours, and play against each other. To put it simply, it’s football... with vehicles! Use your vehicle to hit the ball into the opponents goal. That’s all there is to it - straightforward, but fun!
We hope this post has given you a bit more of an idea of what you could be playing in lockdown, whether you’re an avid gamer or not! We’d love to hear your recommendations - what have you been playing?
