World Kindness Day 2020

How one random act of kindness inspired another...

November 13, 2020

World Kindness Day is an annual celebration that unites people around the world to promote kindness in all forms.

Here at Viker, we believe that an act of kindness can begin a ripple effect that spreads joy far and wide. This certainly rang true for Viker’s recent random act of kindness, when we gifted £100 to lucky Viker fan, Pam Clark.

In the true spirit of World Kindness Day, Pam generously sent the money to a friend of hers, Dorie, a deserving recipient. ‘She has been having some rough times lately with her health and no work, and is taking care of her mother as well’, explains Pam. ‘She’s a tough cookie, but we all need a little help sometimes’, she continues.

A lovely sentiment, and one that we can all take inspiration from; it’s important to check in on your friends and family, no matter how strong they may seem. Kindness goes a long way and you’ll never know the full positive impact it may have on someone’s life and mental wellbeing.

If you follow us on social media, then you’ll already be aware that we regularly give away prizes to community members at random, to show our appreciation to our supportive community of players. Viker’s surprise really made Pam’s day: ‘It was very exciting… I had to keep re-reading the post to make sure I had really won! Someone up above is looking out for me.’

We’re so pleased that we were able to put a smile on Pam’s face, and we think it is admirable that she chose to pass on the act of kindness, to help a friend. Viker’s community really is full of wonderful people!

Have a lovely day everyone; tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, and don't forget that it's important to be kind to yourself too.
